That means, I turned the button that says ‘discourage search engines from seeing’ from on to off, so now it is visible if anyone is looking, haha! I know that will also take time and effort to get it out there, and so that is actually the goal for the next month.
I now have a Shadowing Enoch Pinterest account, Facebook account and Twitter. So come on and look me up!
The main purpose for my blog is to encourage anyone who visits to follow Jesus in friendship & fellowship the way Enoch did, walking so closely with his savior all the way home. I also plan on providing resources for children’s ministry teachers as well as others, but that part of the page is still being worked on. Its coming soon. 🙂 I promise! Even though I know I still have a loonnngggggg way to go, it feels like I’ve crossed a finish line of sorts. Just one leg in the journey; many more to go, but I still feel relieved. Free in a way.
Tomorrow will set in, more work to be done, but I’m going to enjoy today!
What have I learned?
Well, I have been posting some updates of 2 weeks in, and 1 month in, so you can check those out if you want, but at this nearly 5-6 week place, and newly public blog, I can tell you that for me, it was NOT a breeze.
It has been a wild and crazy learning experience with still a long way to go. But I can also attest to the fact that I feel much more confident and able than I did 5 weeks ago. I don’t feel like crying by the end of every day, and I feel better when I look at my site that I actually have its appearance more like I want to, with real navigable links and buttons and such.
I know for some this is probably a much easier endeavor, but for some it may be even harder than it was for me. Don’t give up! If you truly feel like this is what you want to do, especially if its what God wants you to do, but even if its just a hobby or sidebar for your own pleasure, DO IT!
My 10 year old grandson started 4th grade yesterday. He’s not a “natural” for school like his sisters are. He struggles with focus and frustration in learning. He spent the afternoon before school started with me and I tried to encourage him that I struggled too with frustration while learning how to make my website and blog. But I enjoyed the learning of a new thing, even if I might not enjoy every moment of the process, and that even as old as I am… which he did agree with… I am still learning.
I WANT to learn new things. Learning is a lifelong pursuit that I truly do enjoy, and this blog has stretched my learning muscle greatly. Yes, there was ‘pain’… but “no pain – no gain” as they say, haha!
I’m not one of those bloggers that can tell you step by step what I did… there are plenty of those articles on Pinterest if you need one, but what I can tell you from my personal experience is that I’m very glad I started this process, and I am determined to keep on going until I have it all under my belt. That should be about the time I reach Heaven’s gates, and I will have fulfilled the TRUE purpose of this blog… following Jesus all the way home 🙂
I will also tell you that for my web-host, I used Siteground, and am very pleased with that choice. I researched, and thought they were the best choice because of their security and tech support. If you click through that blue link and purchase their hosting, I will receive a small commission at no cost to you, but I wouldn’t recomend them if I didn’t think they were the best. As I get better at this blogging thing, I will try to tell you what tools I am using, and who I would recommend. But that is still a work in progress, as I am still learning myself! 🙂Â
